Many people have their own opinions of ghosts, spirits, and hauntings. Some even have their own stories to tell. What I found concerning ghosts was about ghosts and mirrors. Some of theses supersistions are

Never look into a mirror by candlelight, it may show you a very haunted version of your home.

If you stare into a mirror between two tall white candles you might see the spirit of a loved one who has passed away. And their soul is stuck in your mirror.

Always cover a haunted mirror during a thunderstorm lightning will release the ghosts.

It is considered a bad omen to receive a mirror from a deceased persons home as a present.

If a mirror in the house falls and breaks on its own, A evil ghost is trying to escape it’s mirror prision.

A baby should never be shown its own reflection before it is a year old, else it will stutter or grow no bigger than it is or die before it turns one.

Many families cover a mirror if someone dies, as they believe that the mirror will capture the dead person’s soul, thus preventing its entry into heaven. When a person is bad in life many say let them be trapped in mirror it is better then going to Hell!

And if someone sees their reflection in a mirror from a room where someone has recently died, they will die soon too.

It is said that if ghost wanders your home during the night, a mirror can capture it.

I think these are ridiculous, in my own opinion. I’m not saying ghosts don’t exists, because I believe they do. But these ‘mirror supersistions’ are out there…

My family personally doesn’t have any ghost stories or supersistions. We have all have encounters with spirits of those who have passed on, but nothing out of the ordinary.

The most haunted place in Georgia is Savannah, and Savannah is also claimed to be the most haunted city in America. They even have ghost tours you can take. Some of the places in Savannah are The Pirate House, The 17 Hundred 90 Resturaunt, and the Kehoe House.

People are so interested in ghosts and spirits because they are the unknown. No one can explain why they come, or what they are doing when they are supposed to be dead. This perks many people’s interest and curosity.

Heroes

The heroes in this short video are Shrek, Fiona, and the cat. They are heroes because they protect themselves, and defeat the bad guys. I think characteristics common to all heroes strength and just the willingness to stray from the crowd and do what others are afraid to do. To try to help others. To be the strong one and not be afraid to do what is necessary. Beowulf is a hero because he isn’t afraid to do what others are. He goes beyond what is expected of him, and defeats the monster (to an extent).

The video I chose for my heroes selection is “The Dance” music video by Garth Brooks. I chose this because it represents many heroes from the past. People who weren’t afraid to try and make a difference. This video, and song, both say a lot. Just listen and watch.

I have used a blog before, although not for very long. It was a good way to express oneself. I like the idea of having a blog, and a new way to communicate with others. For theses assignments, I predict that they will be mostly opinion questions where we tell about how we feel about different situations. I am neither excited nor upset about it. I think it is a great new way to use technology, and it will be nice to not have to write things using paper and a pencil. One thing I do dread, though, is saying the wrong thing and having someone get upset. Different from Facebook where I can defend myself, or argue with whomever I choose, this is slightly different…
